Dear Passengers Puts Players in Charge of the World’s Most Unpredictable Airline

Cooperative multiplayer games continue to dominate Steam’s trending charts

Cooperative multiplayer games continue to dominate Steam’s trending charts, and a new title from Ukrainian developer FLEXUS is aiming to join the growing list of viral co-op experiences. Rather than casting players as heroes or soldiers, Dear Passengers places them aboard an aircraft where teamwork; not perfect flying is the key to survival.

The upcoming game transforms what appears to be a routine commercial flight into a series of increasingly chaotic situations, forcing players to coordinate under pressure as unexpected emergencies threaten every journey.

Instead of focusing on realistic flight simulation, Dear Passengers embraces fast-paced cooperative gameplay filled with humor, unpredictable disasters and physics-driven mishaps.

Players take on different airline crew roles, with one controlling the aircraft from the cockpit while others manage the cabin. The objective extends beyond simply reaching the destination, as passengers require constant attention and unexpected events can derail even the smoothest flight.

Routine tasks such as serving food, organizing luggage and assisting travelers can suddenly be interrupted by severe turbulence, technical failures or unusual incidents that demand immediate action.

As flights progress, new obstacles emerge without warning. Aircraft systems may malfunction, wildlife can interfere with the journey, and unusual cargo creates additional challenges, requiring players to communicate quickly and divide responsibilities before situations spiral out of control.

Each match is designed to unfold differently, making teamwork and adaptability more important than memorizing gameplay patterns.

One of the game’s defining mechanics is its proximity-based voice chat system. Unlike traditional multiplayer games where every teammate can communicate freely regardless of distance, Dear Passengers limits conversations to nearby crew members.

This means players must remain physically close inside the aircraft to coordinate tasks effectively, creating moments where miscommunication becomes part of the challenge.

Combined with exaggerated ragdoll physics, the system frequently produces unexpected comedic situations. Crew members can be knocked across the cabin during heavy turbulence or struggle to complete simple objectives while the aircraft descends into chaos.

The result is a style of gameplay that encourages spontaneous moments, making the title particularly suited to livestreams and content creators looking for unpredictable multiplayer experiences.

Dear Passengers also marks an important milestone for FLEXUS. Although the studio has built a large audience through mobile games that have attracted hundreds of millions of downloads, this is its first major release for the PC gaming market.

The transition reflects a growing trend of mobile developers expanding onto Steam, where cooperative multiplayer titles continue to attract large communities.

The game’s Steam page has also drawn attention because it currently does not indicate the use of generative AI during development, a detail some players increasingly consider when evaluating new releases.

The cooperative gaming genre has experienced significant growth over the past few years, with titles built around teamwork and unpredictable gameplay consistently performing well on Steam.

Games such as R.E.P.O., Peak, RV There Yet?, and Meccha Chameleon have demonstrated that players continue to embrace multiplayer experiences centered on cooperation, humor and emergent gameplay rather than traditional competitive mechanics.

Dear Passengers appears to follow that successful formula while introducing its own aviation-themed setting.

Although FLEXUS has yet to announce a final release date, early interest surrounding the title suggests it could become one of Steam’s more closely watched indie multiplayer launches.

With its combination of cooperative problem-solving, proximity voice communication and constantly changing in-flight emergencies, the game is positioning itself as another entry in the growing wave of social multiplayer experiences designed to be just as entertaining to watch as they are to play.

Whether it reaches the same level of popularity as recent co-op hits remains to be seen, but Dear Passengers is already generating attention among players looking for their next chaotic multiplayer adventure.
